This is Rian. She’s only four but she knows what she wants. She chooses what she wears and once she says she says no, you can’t make her say yes. She sometimes breaks her promises, she screams when she’s mad, cries when she’s scared, tears up when she’s sad, she believes in fairy tales and watches The Princess and the Frog on daily basis. When she falls down, she cries for a minute but then life goes on. When I piss her off, she won’t remember it the next second. When I do something wrong, all I have to say is sorry and it’s as if nothing happened. But when she pours something, I scream at her. When she pisses me off, I remain pissed off for a long time. She has to apologize until she cries when she does something. It made me think, who’s really the toddler here? Who has the narrower mind? Who has the more capability to understand?
